Imminent Vigil
During the period where a loved one is actively dying, beside support to the client and family is provided for emotional and spiritual support. Although this support is not emotional or behavioral therapy, the intent is to alleviate anxiety and provide compassionate presence through normalization and reassurance.
Practical Planning
Discussions regarding death and the dying process are delicate and require careful attention to client and family needs; cultural and religious practices, personal wishes, as well as financial abilities.
Family Meetings
Expressing wishes to loved ones, involving outside agencies including hospice and palliative care, and discussing needs and expectations are incredibly tough conversations; having a guide in exploring and completing these tasks can alleviate the burden of facing them alone.
Important Considerations
EOLD care does not replace legal support through estate planning and advice offered by an attorney, nor does it provide medical direction for medication or symptom management. EOLD support can integrate with these systems to provide advocacy and direction in navigating a complete circle of support options.
Continuity of Care
Integrating into hospice and palliative systems of care offers families a wider array of support options and services that can address individual, specific, and unique challenges or needs. The opportunity for additional compassionate support at end-of-life only adds comfort and stability in an emotionally trying time.
Dementia Consulting
Providing compassionate in-home consultations tailored to individuals and families navigating this unique symptom and diagnosis. These services support understanding disease progression, managing complex behaviors, and fostering connections with personal values. Through guidance and education, families feel informed and confident through the journey of a neurocognitive degenerative disease.
Grief Support Navigation
Connecting clients to services and appropriate resources through compassionate guidance for the emotional and practical challenges that accompany grief, coping with caregiving, and loss.
